How To Chop Fresh Garlic: All in Pictures & Video

Written by Bruce Tretter on . Posted in Blog

I don’t know about you, but I love the smell of freshly chopped garlic just as it goes into a frying pan or pot. I mean, how many times has the smell of freshly cut garlic lured you right into the kitchen wherever you’ve been and prompted you to say, “hey, that smells great! What’s for dinner?”

Now, before getting to the chopping you’ve got to do the shopping, and choosing which garlic bulbs to take home really is important. You’ll find fresh garlic in the fresh produce section of the grocery store, usually near where the onions are on display. Once you find them, don’t just pick any bulb you see. Make sure to pick up and feel the garlic bulbs for firmness and weight and choose those that are most firm and heavy as they will be much more flavorful and fresh than bulbs that are airy light and spongy soft to the touch.
